The focus of My Country Talks is on filter bubbles: Despite digital access to endless amounts of information, the individual usually only focuses on one aspect or opinion, reinforced by algorithms on social media that deliver more and more content to match. The result is that people do not allow any other perspectives and remain closed to opposing opinions. My Country Talks aims to reduce this effect by creating interpersonal dialog on the platform. Volunteers first fill out a questionnaire on social issues. Based on this, discussion partners are assigned who have expressed an opposing opinion on the questionnaire. The conversation partners have no choice but to listen to the other person and thus perceive a perspective that would otherwise be out of sight with a click on the internet.
