Das NETTZ - initially a project of the betterplace lab - has been Germany's only networking center against hate speech since 2017 and promotes actors who are committed to fighting hate online. This creates a community of digital civil courage, which NETTZ supports by creating suitable framework conditions. It also serves as a mediator between the sectors and communicates the demands of civil society to politicians and the IT industry or helps civil society actors to gain a stronger voice, e.g. by awarding annual funding prizes to civil society initiatives.
