With aula, an innovative participation concept for schools has been developed to enable pupils to play a greater role in shaping their everyday school environment. The association politik-digital e.V. is behind the project. Aula consists of an online portal that teaches pupils to formulate their own ideas into actionable proposals and share them with others, who can then respond to them, leading to discussions and votes in a democratic way. To accompany the integration of the portal into everyday school life, aula offers didactic material that can be incorporated and discussed in the classroom. The team itself supports the participating schools by providing instruction and ongoing support. With its two-part principle, aula strengthens the commitment and democratic responsibility of young people and trains the digital skills they need for this. In the long term, the aim is to turn them into active shapers of society.
