The Neue deutsche Medienmacher*innen (NdM for short) is a nationwide network with around 2,000 members that campaigns for more diversity in the media landscape. Its members are journalists from a wide range of backgrounds and with international connections. As an association, their aim is to represent the interests of all media professionals who have so far been underrepresented or not represented at all in Germany as a country of immigration. They achieve this by promoting young journalists and providing media companies with information and tools for racism-free reporting. With the BLIQ project, they monitor German reporting on minorities and uncover one-sided debates, stereotypical reports, but also positive examples. In the form of fact checks, interviews, reports and similar types of contributions, attention is drawn to the state of the treatment of minorities in the media.
